OzXposure - City to Reef 12 day tour
Leaving Sydney
Our camping adventure departs from Sydney via the harbour bridge where we travel the coast road through Taree. Before we reach our first night’s accommodation in Coffs Harbour, there is time to stop enroute at a koala breeding park and sanctuary.
We head up the coast to beautiful Byron Bay and walk out to Australia’s most easterly point looking out for dolphins frolicking in the surf. We continue onto the lively Surfers Paradise.
Picking up our 4WD, we take a barge out to Moreton Island, home to the world’s highest sand dunes. This is the highlight of the trip for many people as Moreton Island has miles of stunning, deserted white beaches and forests with crystal clear lakes. Enjoy hiking on the walking trails, visiting the Tangalooma Wrecks and try and spot dolphins or pods of whales in season.
Heading North
We continue up the coast crossing the Tropic of Capricorn and enter the tropical north. At Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands, we embark on an island cruise and enjoy some of the most picturesque sailing in the world. Choose between a day on a fast Maxi sailing yacht or catching a launch to discover the underwater observatory along with several of the island resorts.
We head further north along the coast to Mission Beach for 2 nights where for the adventurous there is white-water rafting, tandem sky-diving or sea kayaking. Choose from a day trip to Dunk Island or simply relax and work on your tan on Mission Beach.
Continuing up the coast, we reach Cairns for our inclusive full-day sailing cruise to the Outer Barrier Reef where you can try scuba diving (no experience needed), hand-feed the fish or snorkel in the warm tropical waters. Your journey ends at our gateway hotel or we can drop you at your own accommodation.
