Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safaris - 4 day Outback to the Sea
Lake Gairdner and Gawlers Ranges Wildlife
We depart Adelaide and fly to Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula. We travel through farmland and head into the Outback passing Wudinna Rock enroute to Kangaluna Camp in the bush. Admire the diverse wildlife on an afternoon outback tour before tucking into a bush dinner at Kangaluna Camp.
The following day we drive to spectacular Lake Gairdner with its glistening white salt pan set amongst a vibrant red landscape. We head on foot into the bush to spot some of the 146 species of birds in this region including wedge tailed eagles. Marvel at the 1500 million year old rock formations and the ever changing landscape as we drive through ancient outback ranges on our way back to camp.
Stunning Landscapes and Swimming with Sea Lions
After a leisurely morning exploring the bush, we visit the organ pipes rock formation at Kolay Micra falls, Nukey Valley and remote parts of this beautiful National Park. Enjoy the colourful dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. When the day gets cooler we walk to Corrobinnie Depresssion to admire the array of colours and patterns in the ancient river bed over sunset drinks before heading back to camp.
On our final day we visit Baird Bay where we take a boat trip to a lagoon near Cape Radstock. Watch the bottlenose dolphins frolic and join them in the shallow water! We cross the bay to visit a colony of rare sea lions - wade in the shallow protected lagoons and play with these friendly mammals. After a delicious lunch on the beach, we head to beautiful Streaky Bay before catching our flight back to Adelaide.
