Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safaris - 3 day Sealion and Outback Experience
Mt Sturt, Lake Gairdner and Wildlife
We depart Adelaide and fly to Port Lincoln on the beautiful Eyre Peninsula. We head into the Outback and pass Wudinna Rock enroute to Kangaluna Camp located in the bush. Admire the diverse wildlife on an afternoon tour to Mt Sturt and the Corrobinnie Lakes before tucking into a bush dinner at Kangaluna Camp.
The following morning we drive to spectacular Lake Gairdner which looks like a piece of Antarctica with its dazzling white salt pan set amongst a vibrant red landscape. On foot, we head into the bush to spot some of the 146 species of birds in this region including wedge tailed eagles. Marvel at the 1500 million year old cigar-shaped rock formations and the ever changing landscape as we drive through ancient outback ranges on our way back to camp.
Swimming with Sea Lions
On Day 3 we head to Baird Bay where we embark on a boat trip for an unforgettable wildlife experience. At Cape Radstock, one of the highest points on the southern coast of Australia, we can watch and join the beautiful bottlenose dolphins playing in the shallow water.
Just across the bay, we visit the resident colony of rare Australia sea lions. We can also join these friendly creatures as we wade in the protected shallow lagoons. After a delicious lunch on the beach, we visit Streaky Bay with its magnificent scenery before we depart for Ceduna and our flight back to Adelaide.
