Adventure Tours - 8 days Face the Outback
Days 1-3
Leaving Adelaide we head north through the vineyards of the Clare Valley and onto the magnificent Flinders Ranges. We overnight at Wilpena Pound, one of Australia's most amazing natural features.
Day 2 begins with some spectacular walks and challenging climbs whilst savouring the stunning views. After lunch we drive to the heart of the ranges and the copper mine village of Blinman.
On Day 3 we leave the ranges and head to Parachilna Gorge, Leigh Creek and the Arabunna Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Days 4-6
The Oodnadatta Track follows the track of the old Ghan railway and dusty camel caravans to Lake Eyre. Marvel at the stunning Desert landscapes on the drive to Coober Pedy where we explore an underground house and a mine and do a spot of opal fossicking! Our digs for the night is an underground bunkhouse.
Day 5 sees us discover the Breakaways - setting for Mad Max III before we head up the Stuart and Lasseter highways to Uluru. We arrive at camp in time to enjoy the famous sunset views over the Rock.
Day 6 allows plenty of time to appreciate the magnificent sunrises and sunsets and to explore Uluru and its walks as well as the Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Days 7-8
On Day 7 there is time to do the Valley of the Winds walk at Kata Tjuta and free time to take advantage of some local indigenous tours or a swim in the pool. We drive to Kings Canyon where we camp for the night.
Our final day and we tackle Kings Canyon with a morning hike! Weave among the sand stone domes of the Lost City and relax in the cooling Garden of Eden pool. After lunch we travel through the ranges and sandy rivers before arriving at Alice Springs, our final destination.
