Description: Location. The Tallawanta Lodge, located in Pokolbin, New South Wales, is positioned in the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges, near many local wineries and impressive natural sites. The lodge is nestled within Hunter Valley Gardens, one of Australia's top destinations, known for its eight-kilometer walking path connecting several individually themed gardens. The Hunter Valley Gardens Village, located nearby, features boutique specialty shops, cafes, chapels, wine cellars and entertainment. McWilliams Mount Pleasant Winery, located within one kilometer of the property, is known for its award-winning wines. Hotel Features. The lodge offers fine dining at Lazzarini's, serving authentic Italian dishes. The Garden Court Restaurant serves meals overlooking the pool terrace. The lodge bar serves drinks. On-site recreations include tennis courts, large heated outdoor pool, sauna, spa, and a picnic and barbecue area. The lodge also has its own library. On-site massage services are available upon request. Guestrooms. Accommodations are comprised of king rooms, family rooms, and apartments. Each of the 72 units includes a private balcony overlooking the pool area, gardens, valley or vineyards. The Library and Presidential suites feature a separate lounge, fireplace and bathrooms with spa tubs. All guestrooms include refrigerators, minibars, coffee/tea makers and cable television. Expert Tip. Considered one of Australia's best wine country regions, the Hunter Valley area has produced internationally acclaimed wines since the early 1800s. Local wine experts recommend stocking up on red wines from 1998, 2000 and 2004, three years in which a streak of hot Australian summers produced grapes with more intense flavor. |
