Carisbrooke is a unique central Queensland  working sheep and cattle  property combining an outback station stay aboriginal culture and dinasaur history. Good standard accommodation for small groups and individual travellers. The owners and hosts conduct  small group tours (additional cost) of the varied and historic region. The station is 85 kilometres south of the township of Winton and is home to remarkable aboriginal rock paintings surrounded by magnificient and dramatic outback scenery. The property is located not too far from the Lark Quarry Conservation site containing 93 million-year-old footprints of dinasours. Once a large cattle station now running sheep with the owners now placing their engeries into environmental projects such as a keyline irrigations system. On the way to Winton from Longreach visit the Stockmans Hall of Fame. Travel from the north (Cairns) to Townsville to Charters Towers to Hughenden then to Longreach. From the South Brisbane Toowoomba Roma to Augathella to Blackall to Longreach to Winton. From the East from Rockhampton via Blackwater Emerald to Longreach to Winton.
