Description: Welcome to the Stone House - a Heritage property classified by the National Trust, a private oasis, and a personal sanctuary. Stone House is reminiscent of Old England with beautiful Georgian architecture, French windows and a stunning fanlight entrance overlooking the South Esk River that is surrounded by formal manicured gardens with Heritage Classified trees. The quaint rose beds overlook the front bluestone fence and a delightful Tasmania-Island shaped fishpond offers hours of pleasurable viewing from the antique daybeds hidden in the greenery of the garden. The house was built by convicts for Reverend John Youl, the first Tasmanian clergyman, in 1825, so history abounds in this stately old home. Stone House provides superior accommodation with luxurious amenities throughout, where you feel at home the moment you arrive. Four bedrooms allow up to four couples to spend a week getting away from it all, where one can live in a world of exclusivity, surrounded by a private garden overlooking the river and countryside. Fishing, golfing and wine tasting are within an easy drive away, all done on the same day if you so desire! This self-contained home has full facilities including an open pantry and continental breakfast menu. An open fireplace allows you to watch the flames flicker while you reminisce on the day's events, enjoying the delights of Tasmanian wines and fine produce, or venture outside to the barbeque to cook the catch of the day, or throw on some Aussie sausages and steaks. Whatever takes your fancy - the days are your own to do as you wish. Onsite caretakers are available if you need them, but most likely you won't know they are there. Tariff is based on the whole house with four bedrooms for up to eight people. In Saturday 1600 - out Saturday 1000 - $5000.00 for the week. $750.00 per night, minimum five nights. |
