Description: Waratah on York is a gracious two-storey Victorian Italianate mansion with nine spacious, elegant rooms overlooking the city of Launceston and the River. The rooms retain many of the original features with modern conveniences and you have the choice of: standard room, spa room, executive spa room or the honeymoon suite. A hearty Continental breakfast is included. The executive spa room has a spa bath and a four-poster bed; one also has a double shower and a sun room. Waratah on York is a five-minute walk from the centre of Launceston and the local swimming pool is right nearby. Launceston is a good place to stay to explore the Tamar Valley wine region, Cataract Gorge, the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk or the Wood Design Collection. The city also has many excellent restaurants to sample. You are invited to complete your day in the lounge, by the open fire, with a complimentary glass of port.
