Description: At Penny Royal you have the choice of staying on the premises in either your comfortable motel suite rich in the same historic award-winning atmosphere, or one of our spacious apartments. The motel was originally built as a watermill in 1825 on the banks of the Isis River not far away. In 1972 it was transported to its present site, reassembled stone by stone and refurbished to offer a unique blend of old world charm with modern facilities. With our spacious apartments you can choose from one, two, three& four bedroomed - fully self contained with all the features of home. The Owls Nest Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner (six days a week ) with Pennys Tavern a must for pre-dinner drinks with dinner also served in the tavern. The Penny Royal is conveniently located only a few minutes walk to the city shops and restaurants and the peaceful parklands and bushwalks of Cataract Gorge.
