Description: Savour the romantic atmosphere of this splendid Georgian mansion of white-painted stucco over convict brick and stone. Set in extensive gardens featuring Norfolk Pines, palms and a formal area with rustic fountain, it was originally built in the 1820s by a First Fleet Marine and licensed as a coaching inn in 1834. Now restored in luxurious comfort, each well-heated room has its own individual character. For instance, Christinas room is furnished in art nouveau style. Its very large with a bay window overlooking the garden. Patricks room has a brass bed, and is decorated in Victorian style in green, black and brass. Jessicas room has a sky window and a king size bed plus another single bed in the cute balcony room. Other charms indoors include a large private heated saltwater pool, huge spa and a pool/eight ball table. Outdoors enjoy roaming around the large leafy cottage garden. An indulgent hot country breakfast featuring wholemeal bread and homemade jam in the country kitchen will set you up for a day visiting Cadburys Factory and Moorilla Winery nearby and the many other attractions of lovely Hobart and surrounds. Your friendly hosts spare no effort in creating a warm hospitable atmosphere and take special interest in assisting with touring and historical information.
