Roseneath is a classically designed, colonial-style sandstone home with spectacular westerly views, both day and night, across the Derwent River to the Tasmania Bridge and to the city, nestled at the foot of Mount Wellington. It is set on the heights of Rose Bay in a quiet suburban street with easy access to Hobart-by car or by public transport. It is surrounded by spacious (2000m2), sun-filled gardens which are tended by your hosts-Susan and Alain. It is an ideal base for exploring a large area of southern Tasmania with its numerous, varied attractions and activities. Our in-house guests have the use of the sunny conservatory, which overlooks the pool and the gardens, and the cosy lounge. Enjoy afternoon tea or, in the cooler months, a mulled wine in front of the wood fire. Read a book from the library, play a game from those provided, watch TV or a movie. Dinner can be provided by prior arrangement with Alain, your host and a French chef who has worked in some of the best restaurants in France. In the gardens there is a large, in-ground, solar heated swimming pool and the entertainment area with several barbecues. Settle into a beautifully appointed self-contained studio/unit (four and a half star) with fine Tasmanian blackwood furnishings or choose one of the in-house rooms (four star), one of which has a spa ensuite (four and a half star). All accommodation is on the ground floor. The unit is stocked with all the breakfast requirements for you to cook when and as you wish. A full breakfast is cooked for our in-house guests. Homemade jams, and breads are provided for everyone. Roseneath is five minutes (3.5 kilometres) from the central business district and Salamanca and 10 minutes from the airport. Roseneath is ideal for-a romantic honeymoon, an anniversary, a few days with someone special, a longer break to get away from the stresses of everyday living, or even, a business trip where ready access to the city is as necessary as calm and restful sleep. |
