Fonthill is great base for exploring Tasmania. The colonial town of Oatlands is just 20 minutes along quiet country roads. Closer to home you'll find yourself right in the heart of the Midlands world famous for its saxon merino flocks and superfine wool. You can take a close look at the way we run things on our 6500 acre sheep property - particularly interesting during shearing and lambing but there's always something going on. Of course you won't have to do any of the hard work! As part of our property 290 hectares have been reserved in its natural state for future generations to appreciate bushwalking observing the wildlife - maybe a Tasmanian tiger - but definitely a Tasmanian devil wedge-tailed eagles quolls forester kangaroos. A photographers paradise. In the evening you can relax in front of the cosy log fire with a good book or just reflect on the lives and times of our pioneers. Facilities: • TV |
