Description: Today the Hotel stands as a reminder of an elegant past with its wide verandah and stained glass lead light windows. Located in central Albury, the 152 year old Hotel is regarded with such significance that it has been placed on the Register of the National Trust. The accommodation in its 50 rooms, some of which have been converted to Motel style, with en suite, is still cheap, clean and comfortable, with the meals coming from the kitchen being hearty and served at a very competitive price. What has not changed is the service and friendliness of the staff. Sodens Australia Hotel was the Winner of the "Best Presented Hospitality Venue 2002/3" and the Winner of "Best Hospitality Venue with more than 10 Employees or More 2004/5" (Albury Central Awards). The hotel operated by a local owner family and prides itself on good old fashioned friendly hospitality. Horses no longer stay overnight on the way to and from Sydney and Melbourne. A motel stands on the area previously occupied by the stables, but the "Stable Bar" is still a busy and congenial place, for a drink in the Beer Garden during the warmer months. There are still many people who break long journeys at Sodens. Many groups use the facility as a meeting or holiday place as well as the Social gathering spot for a number of the local sporting clubs. Other Sodens Hotel facilities include an inhouse Bistro and Cafe (open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week), Jimmy’s Wine Bar and the regular nightly entertainments (e.g. trivia, pubopoly, pool tables, electronic video games, pool competitions etc). Come on down and try one of Sodens' ten beers on tap and meet the friendly Albury locals! Facilities: • Bar • Credit Card Facilities • Restaurant • Garage • Swimming Pool • Air conditioning |
