Description: Cradle Mountain Chateau provides outstanding four and a half star accommodation on the edge of Tasmania’s World Heritage Area. The Chateau’s 60 beautifully appointed rooms all have level ground-floor access and private balconies, with views into scenic alpine woodland. There’s a range of dining and entertainment options, including the à la carte restaurant The Grey Gum, casual dining at Quolls Bistro and the relaxed atmosphere of Brushtails Bar, with its full-sized billiard table and cosy log fire. The Chateau is home to The Wilderness Gallery, one of the world’s best collections of nature photography. The Chateau is an excellent base for bushwalks in the Cradle Mountain area. Short walks include the spectacular circuit of Dove Lake, at the foot of the mountain; the climb to Hansen’s Peak or Crate Lake; and the famous ascent of Cradle.
