Description: The Cairns Girls Hostel is afforable budget accomodation in an old historic `Queenslander` that is located in Cairns City Centre. This 1930`s residence built for the founder of Cairns first Department store, it has been home to travelling women from all over the world. This is a female-only hostel in the centre of Cairns. Facilities include three kitchens, two TV lounges, Internet access and a laundry. There are new fridges but most other furnishings are old and the décor is slightly dated but it is kept clean and tidy. The dorms consist mostly of single beds. The hostel has recently undergone a major renovation including Council compliant Fire and Safety equipment and alarm systems fitted throughout. The hostel is located in the central business district - Only 2 minutes walk to main Cairns shopping and tourist outlets and easy access to main cinemas, night clubs, waterfront and the lagoon. A perfect base to explore all the far North Queensland has to offer, the Cairns Girls hostel can provide tour bookings and is conveniently located right beside a local car rental facility.
