Announces the creation of its monthly
FLIGHT PRICE INDEX
The Definitive International Flight Guide To Australia

March 2006

www.australiatravelmarket.com has created The Flight Price Index which monitors international flights to Australia looking at fare prices of all the scheduled airlines as well as charting and predicting booking trends. With this new facility www.australiatravelmarket.com aims to establish itself as the definitive source of information on flight trends to Australia.

For example, during March:
·         The cheapest flight from any UK airport to Sydney in 2006 is for a June departure from
   Manchester, priced £707 with Emirates
·         The average fare from Glasgow to Sydney is 22% higher than for travellers flying from
       London
·         Travellers from Manchester on average pay 12% more than travellers from London
·         Good fares are still available for travel in December with prices from London averaging
£753. It is expected that this average will increase dramatically over the next two months
which means for travel to Australia in December www.australiatravelmarket.com
       recommends that travellers book now
·         Pricing for travel in January/February 2007 remains high with no obvious specials at
present. www.australiatravelmarket.com recommends that travellers wait for another
month to see if prices for this period drop.

www.australiatravelmarket.com has also produced an average international flight fare table for the forthcoming year. All the leading carriers to Australia* were looked at using Sydney as the port of entry/exit for a two week stay and 1st of the month departure. The table overleaf outlines where and when the cheapest fares can be obtained throughout the year:
*Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Malaysian Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Thai Airways, Virgin.

www.australiatravelmarket.com is a destination dedicated, content rich, travel search engine, that provides the independent traveller with the resources, on one comprehensive site, to quickly, simply and efficiently research, price compare and book.

www.australiatravelmarket.com, a division of Global Travel Market and the first in a series of Travel Market destination dedicated sites, was launched in the UK in February 2006. This site will be followed by the launch of a series of separate destination dedicated sites for Asia, Spain, Ski, Florida, Caribbean, Britain and Dubai. Each site will have its own dedicated Flight Price Index.

Since its launch last month (February 2006) www.australiatravelmarket.com has generated £40,612 worth of flight bookings for E-bookers, Opodo and Travelbag alone. This figure excludes accommodation and car hire bookings generated through the site.

www.australiatravelmarket.com is the brainchild of Global Travel Market CEO DAVE SIMMONS, the former managing director of Quest Travel. In creating this destination dedicated search engine concept, Simmons has addressed booking pattern changes of the independent traveller, all of whom do not have the same requirements - some like to book elements through a tour operator, others like to book a few components direct prior to departure, whilst others like to research activities before they leave, booking them on arrival, all of which can take a long time.

www.australiatravelmarket.com, on one comprehensive website, makes this whole process faster, easier and more efficient by offering unbiased, content rich editorial provided exclusively by Lonely Planet, the best product choices and links from the broadest range of sources and multiple web searches for availability and prices.
