Theme Parks

The Gold Coast is home to a number of theme parks. 20 minutes north of Surfers Paradise at Oxenford is Warner Bros Movie World, one of the Gold Coast’s most popular parks, where you can “meet” characters from a range of WB films.

Thrilling rollercoasters and other rides abound including Superman Escape, which gets to speeds of over 60 miles an hour in just two seconds! SeaWorld, at Main Beach, allows visitors to get up close with a massive variety of marine animals, including sharks, dolphins, dugongs and even polar bears! 20 minutes north of Surfers Paradise is Dreamworld, which may be 25 years old but still thought of as Australia’s favourite theme park. It boasts big thrill rollercoasters, Australian Wildlife experience, and the famous Tiger Island, the largest interactive tiger experience outside the US. Wet ’n’ Wild Water World is Australia’s premier water park combining adrenalin fuelled rides with beaches and hot springs. Finally, the Australian Outback Spectacular is an evening show devised by Warner Village Theme Parks and includes Australian stock horses, stampeding cattle, bush vehicles and even a mustering helicopter.
