The Great Green Way stretches from Cairns to Hinchinbrook Island, and incorporates rainforest-clad mountains, small towns, unspoilt beaches and islands. The small stretch of coast around Mission Beach (which covers a string of small towns including Mission, Wongaling and South Mission Beaches, Bingils Bay and Garners Beach along a 9 mile stretch of beach) is a popular stop-off point for backpackers as it offers easy access to a number of adventure activities such as white water rafting on the Tully River and parachuting. It is also a good base for visiting Dunk Island. Canoeing, cruising, fishing and hiking are also popular attractions in this area.
