Queanbeyan Historical Museum

Location: Farrer Place
Description: The museum was built in 1876 as the police sergeant's residence, and became the temporary police station from 1976 until 1978 during the building of the court house.On the 22nd may, 1981, it was officially opened as the Queanbeyan and District Historical Society Museum. The museum now houses an interesting collection of memorabilia from the district. There are also photographs of many district pioneer families on display, a large variety of cooking utensils and hospitalequipment. Also at the museum is the Queanbeyan Pioneer Cemeteries register containing information pertaining to burials in the city from 1839.
