The walk follows a route which links points of scenic, cultural and historicalinterest. It is approximately 18kms long and can be comfortably completed inabout 6 hours. The fertile riverine plain at the confluence of the two riversbrought about European settlement in 1828. Almost 20km of river corridorencircles the city.FaunaThe rivers are home to a range of wild life, such as brown trout and bass,frogs, retiles and mammals. Platypus can be sighted along the Wollondilly.birds including ducks, cormorants, herons and others waders are commonplace.inches, thronbills, wrens, ravens, magpies, peewees and kookaburras caneasily be found along the walk.FloraSmall areas of remnant vegetation can be found along the walks, snow gums,blackeys red gum, yellow box, broad leaved peppermint, river gum can all befound on higher ground. Bottlebrush, wattle and Teatree grow on the lowerbanks and a very sound reed bed is present below the water line.
