Description: The Old Timers Mine is located in the outback town of Coober Pedy, the largest opal producing centre in Australia.

Relive History and experience two underground homes, a 1916 hand dug opal mine, two original sandstone sculptures carved into the walls of the gallery and many other unique, historical displays in our Museum.

Put on your hard hat and enjoy learning how the miners of yesteryear worked in candlelight conditions. See our Opal Mining Machine - we have three large good quality rough opal seams.
